2026 Collaborative Missions Scholarship

Collaborative Mission Trip Scholarship Application ($500)

Application Deadline: Submissions must be received no less than 30 days prior to trip start dates. All trips must be completed on or before December 31, 2026.

Overview & Purpose:

The San Felipe Baptist Association (SFBA) desires to encourage collaborative mission endeavors among our member congregations. This $500 reimbursement scholarship is available to any SFBA member church that engages in a collaborative mission trip with another SFBA member church. Funds will be dispersed to the recipient church upon completion of the trip and submission of a final mission report.

Section 1: Approval Process & Scholarship Criteria

Application Timeline: Applications must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the departure date of the trip.

Review & Approval: The Executive Director and members of the SFBA Administrative Team will review all submitted applications and evaluate them according to the criteria outlined in this form.

Award Notification: Applicants will be notified of approval status within 10 to 14 days upon receipt of the application.

Award Limits: Only one scholarship is available per church per calendar year.

Gospel Component: The trip includes a clear gospel presentation component (e.g., preaching, teaching, VBS, evangelism training, or other evangelistic outreach alongside service projects).

Section 4: Mission Trip Overview & Essays

1. Field & Culture Profile Provide a short essay detailing the nature, people, and culture of the group or community you will be serving.

2. Evangelism Scope & Outreach Strategy Provide a short essay describing the scope of evangelism your team is preparing for. Include the specific types and styles of outreach you plan to utilize (e.g., tracts, Evangicubes, Four Spiritual Laws, chronological Bible storying, VBS, street preaching, personal testimony, etc.).

3. Training & Preparation Provide a short essay outlining your team's preparation and training plan. Please address both the spiritual(prayer, fasting, Scripture memory, team devotionals) and physical/logistical components of your preparation.

Section 5: Terms, Dispersal Guidelines & Signatures

Disbursement of Funds: The $500 scholarship check will be made payable directly to the Applicant Church (not individuals) as a reimbursement following the completion of the trip.

Post-Trip Report Requirement: To receive funds, the applicant church must submit a brief Post-Trip Mission Report within 30 days of returning. The report must detail the team's engagement, ministry outcomes, and how the required gospel component was fulfilled.

Use of Funds: The recipient church may use these scholarship funds as they see fit to cover expenses specifically related to this trip. By applying for this scholarship you are aggreeing to do so.
